''SHATTA WALE $ SAMINI TO SMOKE PEACE PIPE '' - REGGIE ROCKSTONE

the showbiz industry, arguably, for sometime now - have been dominated by series of hits from dance-hall artistes,

but instead of more entertaining hits from the now trending genre, there seem to be a turmoil in the dance-hall camp that has aroused the attention of staunch industry players.

showbiz critics, believed the feud started as a challenge to claim the lyrical supremacy accolade and dance-hall king of the moment.

and what may have started as a normal lyrical battle between dancehall artistes samini and shatta wale in recent weeks has gone sour as the two(shatta_wale + samini) seems to be at loggerheads now.

not known to be the best of buddies, until the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards(V.G.M.A), nobody knew about their feud.

kaakie, percieved to be from samini's camp(high-grade-family) was given the dance-hall artiste of the year... instead of shatta wale... some music lovers disclosed.

tv3's owusu worae captured shatta wale on camera as he destroyed some chairs and props at the V.G.M.A venue - chanting derogatory statements at charter house, kaakie $ samini.

angered by the decision from charter house, shatta immediately registered his displeasure by releasing a song titled 'letter to charter house'

this is how the so-called lyrical feud for supremacy in the dance-hall genre camp began.

to prove his maturity shatta apologized, and invited samini management for a collaboration
which did not really yield fruits.

and out of no where samini released a new single supposedly directed at shatta wale titled scatter bad mind (diss song).

evidently, the move by samini registered a revival of a feud that was almost dying.

in response to samini's song, shatta and his camp, replied samini in no time with a track titled 'sixth letter to samini'.

even fans of both artistes have taken sides, and at the just ended 4syte music video awards, fans chanted shatta wale's name as samini appeared on stage to perform as if to spite samini.

this development has generated controversies in the music industry and created uneasiness amongst some staunch industry players as a whole.

a league of concerned stake holders initiated by the office of the national hip-life director, reggie rockstone, in collaboration with musiga have initiated a peace process for the ongoing unrest in the dance-hall industry.

CEO of the last two records, hammer is part of the committee hoping to strike a truce between the two.

the process to thrash all sentimental engagements between the two artistes in order for a truce has been scheduled to take three days.

in an attempt to avoid contradictory statements and misquotes of the media on this sensitive matter the committee has decided that none of the two parties will grant interviews about progress of the peace talks until a truce is called.

so we have our fingers crossed to see how efforts to strike a truce between the two top dancehall artistes pans out.

"A 2- Stringed Guitar Changed my Life" - Kesse babe

"KESSE" is an award winning Ghanaian singer, composer, and music Producer based in Ghana.

With an enormous following of which females are dominant, he is known as 'Kesse baby' whilst other music lovers also refer to him as 'the silky voice' a title to his unique and captivating vocal signature.

Born to Diana Tekyiwaa Buodu his mother as Kesse Frimpong Michael, and the eldest of two siblings.
An indigene from 'Kwahu Pepiase' in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

He frequented Riis Memorial School during his early primary education and progressed to senior high school where he studied agricultural science.

His talent and passion for music budded at very early stages of his life.
At age 6, Kesse had began singing at Sunday school services and before congregations at the Church of pentecost, kaneshie branch in Accra.

In primary school he would play beats on his desk when classes were not in session and during the absence of teachers.

As a lover of music he took cue to join the school's cultural troupe to explore his passion for the music arts.

He would also perform popular songs at entertainment programs and sometimes during graduation ceremonies.

"Growing up, I was frequently mocked by most of my peers anytime I tried to depict traits of a musician or a performer", Kesse stressed.

After senior high school, Kesse would gather some peers with a two-stringed guitar to sing along the corners of the streets, often at selected joints in his neighborhood which normally invited a lot of criticism and insults from the elderly who tagged him a 'noisy person'.

But that he hinted, did not deter him from focusing on nurturing his music talent into becoming a Profession.

As a kid I went through an ordeal of hardship especially growing Up without the love, protection and assistance of a father, Kesse solemnly stated.

"At nine, I had to sell 'Ice water', fruits and sometimes food stuffs in my village at kwahu pepiase in the eastern region as life for me wasn't rosy as I wished it to be."

But with an industrious mother and a supporting sister (Barbara Amissah Biney) who never gave Up on me, I was able to adjust to the harsh experiences that faced me each day.

With very humble beginnings, he was poised at attaining enviable heights with an aim of becoming a top notch musician despite his plight.

And with a two-stringed guitar Kesse will rehearse day and night learning new songs and also composing his own all in the quest of perfecting his craft.

With a deep passion for music and love for melodies, Kesse resorted to learning how to play numerous instruments and took advantage of every single opportunity he had at any.
Presently, he plays the piano, guitar, harmonica(mouth organ), drums and etc.

His efforts at learning did not go waste but crowned his passion and talent with an invaluable experience and touch of uniqueness which he currently savors as a full time Musician.

The big question: What could one possibly achieve with a two-stringed guitar when it needs six strings to function properly?

But in life one has no excuse, unless he/she is bound for failure - Kesse retorted.

With perseverance, determ ination and focus on his quest to becoming a big hit, Kesse left nothingto chance as far as music was the tagline.

As a result, he auditioned on several music reality shows('Bands Alive', Mentor) on TV3 Network Limited but was not selected.

(During mentor 2&3 auditions) "One judge told me to forget music because there is nothing I could offer and sacked me." Kesse noted.

Again, he auditioned with a Group on  'Gang Stars' a reality show on tv3 and got selected.
But his dream at that time on the reality show was however shortlived as they were evicted in the seventh week.

As if not had enough of troubles auditioning, he tried his luck on mentor 4 and not only was he selected but claimed the patent right of that season as a winner.

He released his first single and Video 'Oh Yes' which enjoyed much air play and got nominated for the Ghana music awards.
Quote:
"Success Usually Comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it." - HENRY DAVID THOREAU(1817-1962)

He progressed to audition for MTN Project Fame - West Africa season 3 organized by Ultima in Nigeria, where his determination was crowned with his first Car at age 24 after placing 2nd runner Up.

Despite the hurdles he had to cross before becoming the figure he is today, Kesse still believes he has higher heights to attain and added nothing can distract his goals.

The silky voice singer, Kesse is currently one of the youngest Musician to be featured by almost all the big names in the Ghanaian industry.

A feat he has earned through recommendation, hard-work and persistence at what he does.
