LATEST: 'GMW 2014 FESTIVAL' LAUNCHED



the biggest Ghanaian music event, 'GMW 2014 festival' formerly known as the 'Ghana Music Festival' is here again.

aside celebrating Ghanaian musicians, the one week long music festival is structured to project tourism, culture and the creative arts industry.

president of musiga, bice osei kufuor, hinted this year's edition is also aimed at positioning Ghanaian music as the heartbeat of tourism.

the GMW festival is a move to establish a national music platform to promote tourism, creative arts and ghanaian music globally.

at the maiden edition launch in 2013, tourism minister elizabeth fosu agyare, assured stakeholders of government's commitment to aid the creative arts industry secure an ultra-modern event center with a large accommodation capacity.

at the 2014 launch elizabeth ofosu agyare assured her outfit is ready to engage stakeholders in the creative arts industry to address challenges in the sector.

MUSIGA president bice osei kufuor, hinted new innovative structures have been put in place to further develop and unite musical unions and musicians across country.

it was an insightful event, however, very few musicians of the current generation patronized.
